My goodness! We’ve been busy here at the State Archives, and Women’s History Month has practically breezed past us! Arizona has been home to many famous (and infamous!) women, so we decided to highlight one of the more nefarious ladies in our State’s history, Winnie Ruth Judd. Judd was known as the “Trunk Murderess.” To read more about this illustrious character, see our guide to Winnie Ruth Judd materials.
And for a more, ahem, irreverent portrayal of the Trunk Murders, see the trailer for Scott Coblio’s rendition of the case done with Marionettes. (We by no means endorse this, but we think it’s awfully entertaining! Be careful, though…the song is an earworm!)
